Return Policy

We want you happy with your unit. This policy explains when you can return or exchange an air conditioner, how refunds work, and your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

Cancelling before delivery

  • You can cancel or reschedule a booking free of charge up to 24 hours before the agreed date — just call or WhatsApp us.
  • Because nothing is paid upfront, cancelling before delivery costs you nothing.
  • Cancellations inside 24 hours, or a no-show when our team arrives on site, may attract a call-out fee to cover the trip.

Damaged or incorrect on arrival

  • Inspect the unit and packaging before you accept the delivery.
  • If the unit is visibly damaged in transit, or is not the model you ordered, do not accept it — tell our team on the spot and we will replace it at no cost to you.
  • If damage is only discovered after unpacking, report it within 24 hours of delivery with photographs.

Change of mind

  • Unused, uninstalled units in their original sealed packaging may be returned within 7 days of delivery.
  • The unit must be complete — remote, brackets, manuals, accessories and all packaging included.
  • A handling and collection fee of up to 15% of the purchase price may be deducted to cover collection and restocking.
  • Units that have been installed, commissioned, gassed or used cannot be returned as a change of mind, because they can no longer be sold as new.
  • Installation labour already performed is not refundable.

Faulty units

  • If a unit is defective within 6 months of delivery, you may choose a repair, a replacement or a refund, in line with section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act.
  • After 6 months, faults are handled under the manufacturer's warranty for that brand and model. We lodge and manage the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf.
  • Our own workmanship is guaranteed for two years — if the fault is caused by our installation, we come back and fix it at no charge.
  • Before a unit is accepted as faulty, it may need to be assessed by an accredited technician or the manufacturer's service agent.

What is not covered

  • Damage from power surges, lightning, incorrect or non-compliant electrical supply, or load shedding equipment.
  • Damage from misuse, neglect, pests, flooding, storms, theft or vandalism.
  • Faults caused by failing to have the unit cleaned and serviced as recommended.
  • Work or modifications carried out by anyone other than an accredited installer.
  • A unit that is simply undersized for the room, where you chose the capacity against our advice. We are happy to advise on sizing before you buy.

How to start a return

  • Call +27 87 008 9107 or email sales@bluelineair.co.za with your invoice number and a short description of the problem.
  • Send photographs or a short video where there is visible damage or a fault.
  • We respond within one working day with the next step and, where a collection is needed, arrange it with our own team.

Refunds

  • Approved refunds are paid by EFT into the account used to make the payment, or an account in the purchaser's name.
  • Refunds are processed within 10 working days of the returned unit being received and inspected.
  • Where a deduction applies (for example a change-of-mind handling fee), we confirm the amount with you before processing.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other South African law. Where this policy and the law differ, the law applies.
